Cisplatin mitophagy

WebMay 20, 2024 · Cisplatin ototoxicity is associated with cochlear cell oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage. However, mitophagy is vital for maintaining mitochondrial quality and cellular metabolism. Accordingly, we investigated the role of mitophagy in regulating cisplatin-induced ototoxicity using the auditory cell line HEI-OC1. WebThe synergistic effect of cisplatin and the DRP1 inhibitor on HCC was assessed in vitro and in vivo. Accordingly, cisplatin induced mitophagy in surviving HCC cells by activating DRP1. The DRP1 inhibitor (Mdivi‑1) increased the apoptosis of cisplatin‑treated HCC cells by targeting mitophagy.
